No update today - Guest strips wanted

Posted by Tjin on the 12th May, 2008

Hi all. Did my neck in last week and I’m not able to get a comic done today; I’ve got no decent movent in my drawing arm without pain. I’ve had it a few days, so I’m off to see the physio. Hopefully it’ll be right for Thurday’s update, but incase it’s not, I’m going to try source a guest strip instead of hoping that it would fix itself (like I was hoping for today’s strip).

So if anyone wants to help out with a guest strip I would be very grateful. Email me at tjinnerz <at> icantdrawfeet <dot> com.

The Firefox 3b5 zoom feature has to be one of the best features since tabbed browsing.

I use a Dell 30″ which has a fantastic pixel density, and coupled with its sheer size (meaning I tend to sit a bit further back) makes viewing pictures with text rather uncomfortable at times.

It scales up the whole page and not just the text, so those small images beomce more legible. You can try it here. I gotta say, it’s made my stumbling much more enjoyable - especially when it seems people insist on stumbling a lone image rather than the page it came from.

I can also see this making website design much more streamlined - having to decide on optimum screen resolution would become moot in most situations.

Remember it’s still in beta though, but so far I’ve had no issues thus far. I don’t use many plugins (no-script, css viewer and stumble upon) so I can’t comment on thier compatibility.

I’m sure Opera and probably* Safari will strike back soon enough and IE will probably get it introduce around version 15.

Edit: Have a page you regularly visit, but the text is too small? Firefox 3b5 also seems to remember your zoom setting for each page. Brilliant.

*Opera has had this feature for a while apparently, my bad.
