It was based on how Land of Nodd *used* to be, which was indeed more tame :-) The comic had to be more PG though 'cause of younger readers. Now I do another comic, Culture Plop ( http://enewsi.com/culture-plop/ ) for TFormers' sister site, Entertainment News International. Yeah, I'm not-so-secretly a huge nerd.
